Some thoughts about creativity

What is creativity and where does it come from?

(Looking at a very small portion of the human brain's purpose and functions, but one of supreme importance.)

How's this for a starter...

Everything that is man-made in the physical world begins as a thought-idea in one (or many) human minds. Bursting into THE MIND, perhaps at the speed of light, AS AN IMAGE; maybe indistinct, rolling around forming as you scan thousands of source memories, fragments of knowledge that give the creation-idea form enough to be expressed in language, IN WORDS...

And then brought outside your brain into the physical world with speech (SOUNDS) sometimes this process only takes a split second. This is often expanded with facial expressions and body language.

Granted this is a simplification of a creative process that happens hundreds, thousands, millions of times each day within the human race. The purpose is either to communicate something, to solve a problem, or for pure enjoyment. Beyond that, there are those moments when one human sees something that has existed for thousands of years was not discovered until that moment; and only to that person. What is that about?

The usual belief is that Creativity usually involves a new concept that is unknown.  The point is that EVERYTHING that one sees, touches, hears happened FIRST in the mind. After that, one way or another, it becomes physical and solid if it is to be a table or a roast chicken, or a song, an action, a book or a highly technical scientific invention.

Now these mental thought-images are the seeds of what can be for good and useful or beautiful creations, or they can be for useless, ugly creations, or even for things that are destructive and evil. They all begin from the same internal source.

Within this function the layers are infinite.  The levels of imagination, alpha wave reception, education, experience, sensitivity can help or hinder the process. Studies abound on whether the images are in black and white or color, are they seen in 3 dimensions, still or in motion.

How do you think you think? Are you aware of the creative process when it is happening? How do you problem solve? Does language interface as a mental dialog as you scan? Or do answers come to you out of the blue? Where is that blue that such ideas come from?
